How to Drive Traffic to your Website for Free
The definition of pay per click is: An effective type of sponsored online advertising that is used on a wide range of websites, including search engines, where the advertiser only pays if a web user clicks on their ad.
Pay per click is used as one more way to drive traffic to your site. If you have the budget for it, it makes sense to use it to its full advantage. Sometimes it can be very cost effective depending on the keywords you choose. That’s really how it works. You choose keywords you think searchers will type in the search bar on the search engines, then you write an ad around that keyword.
When someone does type in that specific keyword, they will see your ad pop up on the left or right-hand side of the results page (depending on the search engine they are using) and then it is up to them if they choose to click on it. If they do, you pay the amount set forth for that keyword. When you set this all up you will need to fund your account in advance. If you are looking about How to Drive Traffic to your Website for Free Sometimes you can get some free money from the program you are using just to try it out.
PPC Ads Can Improve your Business
This money will not go far and you may also have to put some of your own money in to activate your free cash. PPC ads can prove very beneficial to all involved. You, as the advertiser, get the exposure you need to expand your business and the searcher gets immediate results and does not have to wander all over the Internet trying to find what they are looking for.
You can find these types of ads on the results pages under “Sponsored Ads” or “Sponsored Links”. These “titles” make it easier for them to be noticed. Sometimes the results pages can be so loaded down with text and other things that if they were not categorized like this they may never be found.
It does not matter if you are a huge company with deep pockets or a small start-up with an equally small budget. If you do this right you can be on the same level as the big boys and get to your target audience with ease. All you have to do is choose the right keywords and have the budget to fund your account, not to mention be quite Internet literate. If you know what you are doing you can outfox anyone.
How to choose the Right Keywords
The rates that get charged all have to do with how popular the keywords or keyword phrases (long-tailed keywords) are that you chose to begin with. More popular the keyword the higher the price tag.
For instance, the keyword “weight loss” will cost more per click than, say, the keyword “apple pie”. The two main pay per click services is Google AdWords and Microsoft adCenter. There are many others out there but instead of looking for some obscure program that may or may not work for you, it would be your best bet to just use one of these two.
What is the Best Advice for Internet Marketing?
The best advice for Internet marketing is to never lose sight of what you are really after, financial independence. Making your online business success and being able to get out from under the hassle of living paycheck to paycheck is what is important here. So, the best advice for Internet marketing is to stay focused on what you need to learn and never give up. They say that most people give up and go back to their “normal” way of life just before they “make it” and become a success online. Don’t let this happen to you.
A couple of years ago Google came out with the Panda update and messed with a lot of people’s bottom lines. Changing their algorithms meant that everyone needed to learn new ways of doing things and a lot of people lost a lot of money in the process. Now Google has done it again with another update called the Penguin. It remains to be seen what is in store for us this time. But this is what I mean, you need to keep learning all of the time to continue to be a successful business owner. No one can just put up a website and become a success.
How many things to Learn?
There are so many things to learn, none of which are difficult, but most do take some time to master.
Keyword research for one: Keyword research is a tedious task that needs to be done often to keep up with how searchers are searching for products they need and want.
Search engine optimization is another: After your keyword research, you need to optimize your website around those keywords by creating content for your website that will make those searchers interested in what you have to say. If you can establish yourself as an expert in your niche then you will get the bulk of the traffic and the bulk of the sales because people will trust you.
Backlinking is still another: Posting content on other sites with links back to your own is a great way to increase traffic and hopefully, sales. You can do this with forum posts, posting comments on others blogs, or by putting up a banner ad on someone else’s site, with their permission of course.
Just make sure that what you post is not any kind of spam and that the places you choose to post are relevant to your niche. If you spam, you will get caught and booted off of the search engines altogether.
That is No Way to Run a Successful Business
All of this is how you get to be the authority in your niche. But, you must remember that things can change in a heartbeat so you must keep up with those changes or be left behind. Keep learning, every day. This is the best advice for Internet marketing that I can give you. The more you know the quicker you can respond to the changes that are inevitable. Nothing ever stays the same, especially on the Internet.
